Pocket Watch

Presenting a fascinating timepiece: an Aurora Pocket Watch from 1885.

This open-face pocket watch is powered by an original manual-winding Aurora mechanical movement, Caliber Proximity 148, featuring 11 jewels, a lever set, a size 18s, and a sub-second hand. Proudly made in the U.S.A., it offers a classic mechanical experience.

The original white ceramic dial is beautifully designed with large, bold Roman numerals, a black railroad-style minute track with Arabic numerals every 5 minutes, and striking blue-steel hands for an elegant, functional look. The sub-second dial is positioned at the 6 o’clock mark, and the dial is signed “Aurora Watch Co.” at the top.

Housed in a 54.8mm round, nickel-silver case with intricate coin engraving, this watch exudes vintage charm.

After 140 years, this pocket watch remains in excellent working condition, running smoothly and keeping accurate time!

Vintage watches are generally smaller than contemporary models. Men’s watches typically range from 29 to 36mm in width (with some being larger or smaller), excluding the crown. In our listings, we strive to include all relevant dimensions of each watch. If you don’t see a specific measurement or if we’ve overlooked it, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Women’s watches from the 1900s to the 1970s were also significantly smaller than today’s offerings. Feel free to ask any questions regarding size.

We prefer to take photographs outdoors when the weather allows. However, when shooting indoors, please note that we use lightboxes equipped with 360 LED bulbs, which can magnify any flaws that may be less noticeable to the naked eye. That said, we never use Photoshop to alter our images or remove blemishes. While we may adjust the lighting as needed, what you see is what you get, and we take pride in that.

The condition is pre-owned.
The item may show some signs of cosmetic wear, but it is fully operational, and functions as intended.
